The first way and some moms may not have the time to do this is, rocking baby. Now I don’t mean you have to go out and get a rocking chair or spend your nights sleeping in one either. You simply need to sit down and hold baby gently in your arms with him or her wrapped in their favorite blanket. Once you are in a comfortable position both you and baby will begin to relax. Now just gently rock back and forward or sway side to side.
Rocking Baby to Sleep
The tip to rocking baby to sleep is making sure him or her is wrapped securely in a blanket or their favorite one. You will also want to hum, sing or play a soothing CD of you and the babies choosing. Once you and baby are comfortable with this routine baby will go to sleep faster and more soundly each time.
Now I know we cannot rock our babies to sleep for the rest of their lives, yet the blanket and music in the background will help get them to sleep easier in the future when you no longer rock them.
Singing Your Baby to Sleep
If you are like me and sung to your baby then you need to take time and set up a microphone near you when you start rocking baby to sleep the first few times. Since you probably have a computer or access to one I would record it directly into your PC or use a tape player and then record the tape into the computer. By recording it into your PC you can then have your singing loop on a CD or hit the reply button on that track.
By making a CD of you singing while holding baby you get the tones, softness and love that carries through your voice that baby will here. Now that you have a CD made if your throat is sore, you have to be gone when baby goes to sleep or you are simply trying to get them to go to bed on their own you can put the CD player near the crib and baby will go to sleep listening to your voice.
So tonight when you go to lay your little one down and they start crying, don’t stress. Simply pick them up, take their blanket and find a comfortable place to rock them to sleep. Then tomorrow you can set up the music either by recording your voice our listening to soft soothing sounds. Many parents claim that opera like Bach and Beethoven work as well as a lullaby any day.
