I know that everyone has a pet peeve where they live....what's yours?

I have tons...but right now the one that bugs me is the rising cost of rent. I don't understand how landlords expect us to be able to live. This is a provincial problem but very widespread in our city. There is such a great job market but our minumum wage is still the lowest in Canada!! I could talk forever on this topic....
Are they all this lazy

My husband has a son who is almost 20, technically a teenager.
He expects his dad to pay for everything, cinema passes, hifi, you name it. When my husband told him he was old enough to get a part time job and earn money for luxuries , he freaked! We are now the bad guys, and he and my husband are sadly losing touch.
He is at college, and complains that all the jobs don´t pay enough and the hours don´t suit him. But as a student who worked through college as a waitress and barmaid, I do feel angry that he wants it all handed to him on a plate.
My husband has branded him "lazy" but perhaps we are just being unfair? On the other hand, we need to teach him that not everything in life is free....

Kids and bodies

We often have a friend for a sleepover, but this little boy is mad keen on getting under the quilt with my 2 boys and comparing bodies. We try to ignore it, and tell them that they are all the same, but recently he has done it too with a 5 year old girl friend too. Her mother freaked out, and now the boys are all banned from being alone with this little girl.
My friend is embarrassed and doesn´t know what to do, her poor son is bemused.
How to handle this one, as some of us are more liberal than others when it comes to bodies and sex education with our kids?
I tell mine the facts as they ask, on a need to know basis. They are pretty matter of fact about most things, and we just try to teach what is "appropriate" in company and not. Suggestions?

Let girls be girls

I have a friend with a 7 year old daughter, and she is turning her into a little woman. Make up, provocative clothes the lot. And she is obsessed with all the kids in our group wanting her " as the princess" or "I´m the prettiest" and her behaviour drives me nuts. Now she has started following my son around, who is also 7, and telling him that he loves her and she is his girlfriend! He´s bemused to say the least. And to quote him " she doesn´t ever want to climb trees or do anything fun". Too frightened to chip the nail polish I expect.
Why can´t people let little girls be girls?? I know I only have boys, but is this normal for girl behaviour???
And do we just ignore it? My son really doesn´t like playing with her at the moment, as it leaves him uncertain of how he feels.

Bikini time

Surely I cant be alone in dreading this time of year. I´m not that overweight, but at 44 and 2 kids later I´m no Kate Moss!
I really struggle to find a bikini, mainly due to my chest, which is an e cup in bra size, vs my bottom half at a UK 14 ( US 12).
All the fashions are for tiny triangles of fabric that i´d get arrested wearing on the beach. Perhaps a nudist beach is my only option!
Anyone know any where you can get a bikini for a real size woman ??
Or am I supposed to be less self concious and let it all hang out?

I have this problem with my son. He eats tons of snacks all day. Not junk food but cereal and sandwiches...that type of thng. And then when supper is put in front of him he won't eat. Like tonight for instance...I made him speghetti...it is only the two of this week...and he wouldn't eat it. But he had two bowls of cereal just before that. So then a while later he wanted a sandwich. I told him I would make him a sandwich right after he ate his supper. Well his supper is still sitting out and he hasn't had the sandwich. ()
