As we all know, sunscreen is very important and vital to the health of our skin and overall body. Some sun exposure is healthy but continual and over exposure of the sun's rays can be so damaging especially, to young and delicate skin of little ones. As you are heading to go outside in the hot summer sun, you find that there is only an expired bottle of sunscreen. Is the sunscreen as effective as when you purchased it?
Unfortunately, expired sunscreen is absolutely useless. The strong ingredients within the the sunscreen is only strong enough for a certain amount of time. When you're applying expired sunscreen, all you are doing is applying a lotion. It will not protect your skin in the least. If you find that all you have is expired sunscreen, immediately take a trip to your local drug store.
It's worth your time and money for the health and safety of your family.
How do you know that the sunscreen has expired? Usually on the bottom or side of every tube or bottle there is a stamp with the month and year of the expiration. Be aware of these dates. Figure one bottle for the summer.
Every time you go out into the sun, sunscreen should always be applied even when there is overcast. The sun's rays are still strong and damaging enough through the clouds. When summer or the hot days are over with, pitch the bottle of sunscreen and purchase a brand new bottle the next summer.
