As the weather warms up it is becoming the perfect time of the year to
head outside and play. Taking your preschooler out can be a great way
to burn some of their endless energy and share with them a bit of
nature. One fun way to do this is through an exploration walk. This is
a guided walk where you help your child explore all of what is around
them, using only one sense at a time.

If play is the work of a preschooler, testing boundaries is his night job.
Pushing
the limits, stepping over the line, and butting heads is just another
part of what makes preschooler who they are. Unfortunately this can be
stressful, and sometimes infuriating, for the mom trying to raise the
preschooler. Those pint-sized bodies and cherub cheeks can pack enough
attitude to make a teenager seem peaceful. Even when we realize that
testing boundaries is important for them to understand where those
boundaries are it can still be frustrating.

Preschoolers can be pretty ungrateful.
It's
OK, they are supposed to be that way. Infants and toddlers are unable
to realize that they are not the centers of the universe. Grasping a
concept that big is really too much for them. As they move into the
preschool age they begin to see that they are not really the end all of
everything, but what to do with this new information can still be too
much to process. As they mature gratitude for what they have, rather
than expecting that what they want will be immediately given, blossoms.
Still, if you are worried that your preschooler is becoming a "spoilt
brat' or you just want to help them move through the transition here
are a few ideas to use. Tags: preschoolers gratitude thankful |

As the warm Spring weather spread across the US many moms are looking
for fun ways to get their preschoolers outside and burning off steam.
Taking advantage of those windy days by flying kites is a great way to
soak up some sunshine and bring a smile to your preschooler's face. But
before you head to the store to buy new kites for everyone here is a
fun little craft project for you to make your own kites from ordinary
paper bags. Making kites is as much fun as flying them! Tags: preschoolers crafts |

It started simply enough. As I stood in the kitchen finishing dinner I asked my preschooler to pick up his blocks and put them back in their bucket. As we sat down to eat I asked if he had done as I asked.
"Yeah mom, I did."
After dinner I walked into the living room and found all of the blocks still scattered across the floor, exactly as they had been before.
"Honey, did you pick up your blocks like I asked before eating?"
"I did mom!"
There it was, his second lie of the hour from my preschooler.
