With the Easter Season on us very soon, I am reminded of our Easter adventure many years ago with my youngest daughter when she was admitted shortly after birth to the Intensive Care Nursery (NICU).
Even though it has been many years (my daughter is now in Kindergarten) when Easter rolls around I am once again reminded of our NICU experience.
This article shares a special Easter Wish and Gift for NICU Parents who currently have a child in the NICU.
One of the greatest difficulties for me as a NICU parent, who was also used to being a physician, was the overwhelming feeling that there wasn't anything I could do for my daughter. I had to step back and turn over all of the care to those who understood the NICU technology and could help her medically to heal.
I decided to change my feeling of helplessness by taking a more active role in her care. We created a Circle of Healing to have friends and family hold her in their hearts and minds and souls...so she could do better.
My Wish for Current NICU Parents
For this Easter season, as I once again relive our own NICU experiences, I would like to extend the following wish for NICU and ICN parents who currently have their newborns in the hospital. This wish is part of the healing blessing that we use for my daughter's NICU adventure.
May you continue to heal
moment by moment
hour by hour
day by day
knowing that so many love you
and wait to welcome you.
May you feel loved. May you be safe. May you be protected. May you be strong. May you be healed.
May you find healing, in whatever form that healing might take.
Our Easter Gift for NICU Parents
This Special Healing Blessing comes as a bonus when you download the Free resource for NICU Parents, the NICU eBook, For Those Who Hold the Littlest Hands. This resource is the one that we wish existed when we were in the NICU to provide us with information and support for surviving our own experience.

Thanks for this wonderful article. I totally understand about this. My first was in NICU over Christmas. It was the hardest Christmas of my life, and every year I think about it again. The positive of this is that I really cherish the holiday season because of this...

My first born was in the NICU for a little while as well, but not during any holidays, and it was just as hard. Great article. Thanks.
