As mothers, we know and fully understand about housekeeping and what needs to be done and when. There are days when we can definitely get overwhelmed by the housework at hand and just feel like we cannot keep up. From laundry to dishes, dusting to vacuuming, etc. Clutter can be the worst enemy. There is a way to stay caught up throughout the week, but being consistent is the only way this method can be successful.

houecleaning_schedule.jpgWhen your house is a wreck and you don't know where to begin, start with what is needed at first such as laundry! Dusting, vaccuming, etc. can be put on hold so that you can do the laundry and fold it. This can be time consuming, so it's good to get this job done first. Because folding huge loads of laundery can be draining, push the baskets aside for a while. Try getting some dusting and vaccuming done at this point. Then you can go back and put the laundry away.

When it comes to dishes, try rinsing and putting dishes in the dishwasher immediately after using them. That way you will not have a clutter of dishes waiting for you in the sink. If you do not have a dishwasher, wash the dishes right after each use, drying and putting them away.

Clutter can be a mother's worst enemy. Almost everyone has one of those catch-all tables. The best thing to do is put things away as soon as you are finished with them. Maybe make a basket to place all your mail in, get pen and pencil holders, for important documents get a file folder and label it and put it in a filing cabinet or drawer. When you stay on top of items, the least likely you will have to worry about clutter and chaos.

Say you slop spaghetti sauce all over the stove. Instead of leaving it for later, clean it immediately. If you see garbage etc. on the floor, it can be easy to ignore it and walk on, just pick it up and toss it away.

What about mopping and scrubbing the bathroom? Just designate one day a week to give the kitchen and bathroom floors a good scrubbing.

A mom's job is never done. It is advisable to maybe make a cleaning calendar for yourself so that you do not feel overwhelmed by all your housekeeping tasks. This way you can follow it routinely and stay on top of things without feeling stressed. You may even feel better about yourself as you follow your cleaning routines.

Here's to a clean house!
