Are you planning a homeschool Summer camp? Check out this list of Summer Camp Activities to gather ideas for your upcoming homeschool summer camp.
Camp Activities
Planning Camp Activities is a great way to ensure that your homeschool summer camp experience is memorable. After all, you wouldn't want to forget to make s'mores, or take a nature walk. Summer camp is an important childhood experience. So relax and enjoy your homeschool summer camp.
Water Play
Buy a Slip and Slide or make one with a tarp or a roll of landscaping plastic. Use your slip and slide in conjunction with a Kiddie pool, a sprinkler and a water slide and build an obstacle course. Buy or make a few gallons of bubble mix and have fun blowing bubbles. You can pour bubble mix on a plate and blow with a straw for a bubble-blowing contest. See who can blow the biggest bubble or try blowing square bubbles with homemade pipe-cleaner bubble wands. Go to war, with water balloons, traditional watergun, super-soakers, or even squeeze bottles. Make a water-play center with funnels, a pasta strainer, measuring cups and other items.
Nature Activities
Go on a nature walk, a scavengar hunt or berry picking. Catch frogs, tadpoles, fireflies and fish. Lay in the grass or on a raft and watch the clouds or listen to the birds. Climb trees and spy on birds' nests. Swim in a lake, hike a waterfall or sleep in a tent. Practice moving like animals and mimicing animal sounds. Make art from nature, like birdhouses decorated with moss and bark or hanging mobiles to decorate your patio after camp ends.
Campfire Activities
Tell scary stories, or reminisce over notable incidents in your family history. Tell roundabout stories where everyone contributes a few sentences. Make s'mores with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars. Periodically say "shhh. Did you hear that?" Look up at the stars and try to find the big dipper or a shooting star.
