a-type-a-mom.jpg Hi Mom! You work hard, you play hard. You juggle life and love and kids, and you do it all with style. You wipe butts and kick butt. You're a Type-A Mom! Type-A Mom is a site designed to be created and maintained by the real know-it-alls in parenting, the moms.

Join first to connect with our community of moms. Don't just read articles, but write them (and earn money for doing it!). This site has no investors. This isn't a "mom" site run by men in suits. This site is run by a mom, and all the moms here get a cut in its success. It's time to get real, moms!

Raising a Hearing Impaired Child E-mail
Mom Types - Special Needs Parenting
Written by Emy Moore
I still remember how devastated I was to learn that my son was hearing impaired and would need to wear hearing aids. He was 3.5 years old and we had been working with speech therapists for some time for his delay and it took us much longer to put all the pieces together than it should have. But now a year later, he is improving significantly. And I have redefined what I think of as normal.

As we all know, sunscreen is very important and vital to the health of our skin and overall body. Some sun exposure is healthy but continual and over exposure of the sun's rays can be so damaging especially, to young and delicate skin of little ones. As you are heading to go outside in the hot summer sun, you find that there is only an expired bottle of sunscreen. Is the sunscreen as effective as when you purchased it?

Stages - Preschoolers
Written by Summer Minor
As the weather warms up it is becoming the perfect time of the year to head outside and play. Taking your preschooler out can be a great way to burn some of their endless energy and share with them a bit of nature. One fun way to do this is through an exploration walk. This is a guided walk where you help your child explore all of what is around them, using only one sense at a time.

Mom Specials and Holidays - Mother's Day
Written by Angela Gray

Ever since I became a mother in 1991, I thought that Mother's Day was all about me. My own mother became an accessory to my big celebration of me.

My mother died in 2006, and I hate that Mother's Day is about me now. I wish I could go back and undo that. Here's a tribute to her that I had the presence of mind to write and give to her for her last Mother's Day.
