Four blissful days....four days to be reminded how wonderful my
children are, what a beautiful giggle my youngest has, how bright and
curious my older one is, and how sweet and caring my hubby is. Since I started my second company I
have barely taken a day off (and yes, I do mean working weekends) let
alone four days off. I am not complaining. That is nature of being an
entrepreneur and the reality of running a start up. And most days, I
don't regret it. And most days, I still get time with my kids and my
hubby, so yes, I have it pretty good.
But yesterday, I returned from four amazing days just with my kids
and hubby and for a brief moment I thought, why did I start this
company? What was I thinking? I LOVE my kids. I LOVE my husband. I
enjoy being with them. And, some days I really don't need more.
I feel lucky to be reminded of that. And I know that this is just a
grass is always greener moment. That I am an ambitious person who
isn't happy unless I am running a company, getting up at the crack of
dawn to work out, chairing an event, and juggling all of it with kids
and hubby and friends. I do have to have it all.
I like moving
quickly. But every once in awhile, it is fabulous and necessary to
slow down and take 1, 2 or 10 days to just be. And so, I am already
planning that next trip, so I can take a step off of the crazy freeway
of my life and sit on top of a hill and watch a sunset.
