A healthy attachment between parent and child begins at birth. A healthy attachment or sense of trust and closeness is the foundation for healthy child development in all areas - intellectual, social and physical. If a child doesn't develop a strong attachment to an adult, a child's physical growth, social skills and intellectual potential are all affected in negative ways. When you look at a child's first scribbles on a paper, they may just look like that. To your child though, it is much more meaningful. Those first scribbles are your child's first attempt at writing or communicating their thoughts in a way that is meaningful to them.

My first grader really had a hard time with math and reading, so I
searched the web for anything that I could find that I thought would
help him at home and was free. Some of these sites have games and
worksheets for kids of all ages, but some are only geared for first grade. These sites were great and some of them may even be used in your child's first grade class at school.

Do you consider giving your kids pocket money essential? Is it bribery to complete basic chores, or does it teach them budgeting, saving and basic money management skills? Well in truth it’s probably a bit of both, and I don’t think either is a bad thing! In talking to mum-friends, however, I have discovered a wide variation on the whole pocket money theme from amounts, how it is earned and what it is spent on.
