13.jpg Which swim suit will your pre-teen daughters choose to wear in 2008? Get some ideas about what's in and out, and some tips for finding designer pre-teen swim suits on sale, with this 2008 swim suit preview.

I decided my thirteen-year-old daughter and I would get a jump on what swim suit she would want to hunt down and look for, for this summer. The best place I have found to go and start looking at the new summer designs is at the Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week site.

Go to this page and click on designers and the names of each designer will come up. To the right side of each designer will be the pictures of the suits that they have designed for the 2008 summer season.

There are a lot of great looks from Rosa Cha, Shay Todd, and True Religion. I personally like the one piece suits and prefer that she wear one. So, I always try to talk her into one, but I will settle for a two-piece that does cover something. I usually always buy her a coverup and a pair of sandals to match, so she will at least be covered to and from the pool.

I love my daughter to look good and be fashionable, but I don’t like the price. So, I am always looking for the sales. Here are some of the ways I look for a designer suit, cheap. I place the name of the designer, swimsuits and sale into the browser. Then I go to whatever it can pull up.

I also go to some sites that search for you like Price Grabber, Biz Rate, Amazon or Shopzilla. I even look for sales at the local stores and this is when it’s important to know what suit she wants and what size.

avatar I'll try to say this gently, but I want to talk truthfully about sexuality and that means being frank! You are talking about pre teen girls, and most of the swimsuits you linked to seem to be designed to show off 'feminine assets'. There are some parents and children who are challenging the cultural norm of "looking good means flaunting sexual attractiveness". Personally, I don't think that preteen girls should be dressing to arouse. To me, that looks sad, not good. I do wish you well as you navigate the intricacies of mamahood!

You should be proud of yourself and your body and at the age to 12 to 15 most suits are two piece suits. Even speedo is moving towards alot of two piece suits this year. If your child is like mine at the age of 13 she is already in a medium adult clothing at 5feet 9inches and wearing a size 11 shoe. I teach her to live her life while she is young and just because you wear a two piece suit doesn't mean your are trying to look sexually attractive.

I agree, Theresa. None of those swimsuits were modeled by pre-teens and don't appear to be marketed towards pre-teens either. Lands End, swimoutlet.com and Target are places we've found discreet swimwear for our girls. I don't want my little girls accustomed to or comfortable with baring themselves in public places.

Most cloths are not modeled by pre-teens, because most are in small adult cloth's. It also isn't about what the boy's think, it is usually a competition between the girl's about who looks better in their suit and who has the cutest one. Some girl's even go as far as who paid the most or who got their's at the best sale.

avatar I want my girls in something respectable, comfortable and easy to run around in without worrying about exposing even more of themselves. On top of that, more than fashion, I value protecting their skin. Old Navy and Target have both had cute girls' suits the past couple of years with rash guard type t's and boy shorts or modestly cut bottoms in fabrics with built in sun protection. That's what we go for with our girls.

I agree with what you are saying. We have different suits that we wear for lessons and when we go to a pool that has slide
