This Mothers Day, praise and recognition and dandelions of achievement will be showered upon every mother everywhere. Except in third world countries like in Africa, but that's a whole 'nother story, so grant me a license to be ethnocentric please so that I may continue.
Thank You.
Happy
Mother's Day to all of you, my wonderful mom-blogging friends. In this
season of our lives, we are surrounded by the energy of little
children. They're fascinating. An endless supply of things to blog
about. But that's not what today is about. Today is about us. We are so
much more than mothers. Not to imply that there's something "less"
about motherhood. Quite the opposite. In fact. While Motherhood might
be the hot fudge in our Sunday, the ice cream is often pretty good on
its own.
So here's to the Ice Cream. Here's to the woman that still lives in the heart of every mom.
Here's to the woman who studied for her Master's Degree in Psychology while battling her son's Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome - and did it!
Here's to the woman who
has built up a social networking empire creating an environment that
supports mom-run businesses in an enormous way - and just so happens to
be having a baby this week.
Here's to the woman who teaches other families how to be green, without cramping our style.
Here's to the woman
who lost her husband right before Christmas, she posts a picture of him
each day and I think about Jim every time my husband is out of town. I
pray for her son.
Here's to the woman
who used to teach Special Ed, now she's the president of the Homeschool
support group, while
raising some amazing little girls, one of whom is no longer on the
autism spectrum.
Here's to the woman
that challenges us as mothers and homeschool teachers every day to be
our best, so that we may appreciate our children at their best.
Here's
to the woman that's always too busy to blog.
Here's to the woman
whose attentiveness and devotion to her children is an inspiration and
a blessing to all who seek to be better mothers.
Here's to the woman who's been there, done that and can tell you how to do it better.
Here's to the woman who blogged before it was stylish, and is still ahead of the trends.
Here's to the woman that still wears dreadlocks and calls her husband sexy all the time.
Here's to the woman who used to be a professional, and she's having so much more fun now.
Here's to the woman
with 4 more babies growing in her belly right now.
Here's to all of the
30 something mom bloggers, who openly post things on the internet that
our grandmothers would have freaked out about. After all, we were the
teenagers who came home to Jerry Springer after school. This is way
more dignified.
And here's to you. Sure - you're a mom, and that
is to be celebrated. But to this motherhood, we bring so many other
gifts, so many other talents and so many other aspects of our
personality. In this season of our lives, our time and attention may be
dominated by little people, but somewhere deep inside of us, there's a
whole 'nother person, peeking out every now and then. One day, when our
kids are grown and gone, even she will never be the same again. She'll
be their friend, their teacher and their role model. And our memory.
Send her some Ice cream. I recommend Moose tracks.
Thanks for the info I'll add it.
