I will always have a special place in my heart for the NICU and the ICN that took care of my youngest during her Intensive Care Hospitalization.
On my first Mother's day after her birth, I realized how lucky I was to be celebrating Mother's Day with her and how different things might have been.
This Mother's Day do something special for the NICU or ICN that took care of your NICU child. Donate a Zaky, an ergodynamic positioning hand to the hospital to use with other NICU babies as part of their Oboz Program.
What is a Zaky?
The Zaky mimics the hand, shape, weight, and touch of a human hand to comfort the baby and provide support, sense and security and assistance with positioning particular important to NICU babies.
I wish that the Zaky had been available when my daughter was in the NICU. I know that being able to leave something behind to 'hold her' would have made me feel better about leaving the hospital.
About the Zakeez Oboz Program
According to their website:
Our president made a commitment with God to help babies on behalf of her son if he survived a long hospitalization after he was born prematurely weighing less than 2 lbs, and her vow is reaching new depth with this program.
So far Zakeez inc. has donated over 2,000 Zakys to NICUs worldwide to help their sickest children.
How to Donate a Zaky
Donating a Zaky to your local NICU or ICN is simple.
Thanks to the Zakeez Oboz Program all you have to do is pay for minimal administration fees, shipping and handling. You can donate a Zaky® to your NICU for only $7.98. Any adult may pay the minimal admin fees, shipping and handling.
Last year for Mother's day I donated two Zaky hands to one of the hospitals that took care of my NICU survivor.
You can read more about the Oboz Program at the Zakeez inc. website.
