These cards really are the gift that keeps on giving! Any mum will appreciate a handmade card, and inside there is the bonus of a small gift attached too…perfect for little ones who want to make a personal gift that says so much more than a box of chocolates!
“Chore” BouquetYou will need:Construction card, various colours, but 1 must be green.Glue
  1. Fold 2 pieces of different coloured A4 sized construction card in two. One (A) will become the body of your card; the other (B) will become your vase.
  2. Cut piece B in half, and design a vase on one half. It can be any shape so long as there is a neck opening of at least 5cm.
  3. Decorate your vase, and then cut it out.
  4. Carefully attach the vase to the front of piece A, gluing only around the edge and NOT the top, so we can slip the flowers in the opening.
  5. Using more construction card, cut strips of green to create stalks – they should be no less than 1.5cm thick.
  6. Using any colour you wish, draw flower heads and then cut them out. Attach them to the stalks.
  7. Write on the stalks your chosen chores, anything from household tasks to walking the dog. Each one is a promise to do the task.
  8. Pop your flowers in the vase, write your message inside, and your card is complete!
Seed CardYou will need:Construction card (A4 folded in half) or card blank2 x envelopes, new or used, in different colours1 packet of seeds SMALLER than your card blankGlue
  1. Cut the corners off the envelopes to form triangles at least 1 – 1.5 inches deep.
  2. Place the corners over each of the seed packet corners, as you would do with photo corners on a picture.
  3. Then glue them to the front of your card so the seed packet is held snugly to the front.
  4. Write your message inside and hey presto!
You can swap the seed packets for other things too…a gourmet sachet of hot chocolate, drawer scent sachets, speciality tea or even a sachet of chicken soup for a get well card!
