Father's Day is just around the corner and it is time to start thinking of a great inexpensive gift idea for the dads. Well, look no further, here are a handful of ideas that are sure to warm any dads heart but keep the budget to a minimum.
For starters, plan a Father's Day Barbeque for dad. You might want to invite other dads from the neighborhood and make it a neighborhood barbeque, or just immediate family members. Go with inexpensive red checkered table cloths, paper plates and napkins. The menu could be baked beans, chips, hamburgers and potato salad. Top it off with brownies or chocolate cake and your menu is complete.
The key is for the moms to do the barbequing and the kids of course will help! For fun you can set up a softball game between the dads and the kids and moms. Dads love the idea of getting outside vs. standing in a stuffy buffet line with fluff and fancy surrounding them.
Sometimes, dads might be obligated to do something later in the day with family members. If this is the case, you might want to host something early in the morning.
"Doughnuts with Dads" is the perfect idea! Have plenty of dad's favorite coffee on hand, doughnuts, and of course the newspaper ready when he wakes up.
Message in a Bottle- This is a great inexpensive way to show your appreciation.
Have the kids write a special message on beach themed paper to their dad. You may also want to include any special photos from the past or the present. Collect a medium sized water bottle or glass bottle with a cork lid. Poor sand and small sea shells inside along with the scrolled up message and any photos. decorate the outside with foam fish or hot glue gun sea shells on outside. Put inside a burlap style bag or brown paper bag with a tag labeled- "A message for dad. "
Picture inside a frame- Dad's love already framed photos to show off on their desks.Take a snapshot of the kids with basball caps on and frame with an inexpensive frame. Decorate the frame with whatever materials you would like.
Rock Paper Weight Find a medium sized rock and paint. This is a great thing for dad's office.
Coffee Mug-buy an inexpensive mug at a discount store and have the kids decorate it with permanent markers. These are the best kind of gifts!
Foam Visors- You can buy these at craft stores and decorate with a theme of your choice. Fishing, baseball, football, computers, etc... You should be able to find foam shapes with these themes.
Popcorn and a movie Rent a favorite movie and pop a large bag of popcorn with a tag that Say's "pop, you are the best."! Dad will love to have popcorn and a move after the kids go to bed.
Hope your Father's Day turns out to be the best ever!
