I am excited to be writing about being a Nana.  I write some other articles about being a mom of teens, a stay at home mom, and a mommy blogger, and now I get to write about being Nana!

As you can see from the title, I don't go by grandma; I choose Nana, and my two year old grandson calls me Nana. I absolutely LOVE it! I love it when I walk into his house and he excitedly says, "Hi Nana!" It's the most precious sound to this Nana's ears! Now as I watch his 2 month old brother growing so fast, I can't wait to hear him say "Hi Nana!", when I walk in the room.

For those of you who have yet had the opportunity to be a grandma or Nana (or whatever you will be to your grandkids) let me tell you, it is the most AWESOME experience EVER! I've always heard, as I'm sure you have, that being a grandparent is way better than being a parent. And it's true! Not that being a parent is bad, but there's something amazing and different about being a grandparent. The relationship with your grandkids is so different than with your own kids, yet your grandkids are an extension of your child.

I look at my two grandsons and while the oldest looks a lot like his dad, I see a lot of my daughter in him.  His head is shaped like hers, as weird as that sounds.  And then the baby looks just like my daughter, yet he's a boy.  It's fun and funny and they are a joy and a blast!!!

I wouldn't trade being Nana for anything!!!
