Most moms would spend their money on everyone else in the family but themselves. But, every once in awhile, it's time for mom to spend some money on herself. When it comes to spending money on clothes, take a few things into consideration. After all, you want your amazing new look to stay amazing, right?

  1. If it isn't baby proof, be careful about buying it — Some clothes are easier to clean than others. If it's for a night out, then it's fine to go with more delicate fabrics, but if you plan on wearing it everyday, make sure it's going to hold up.
  2.
  3. How do you feel in it? — So much money is wasted on buying things that you "kinda" like. If you think it's uncomfortable, itchy, not sure about the color : don't buy it. Keep looking until the pieces you buy, are ones you know you're always going to love.
  4.
  5. Is it going to be out of date before your baby's next milestone? — Some moms don't update their wardrobe very often, so the key is to keep it simple. Invest in good quality, fashion safe pieces-- the kind that will always be in style. Look for the nice fitting jeans, the simple and elegant sweaters, the simple black dress... things that can be dressed up and dressed down, but won't be out of fashion in a few weeks.
  6.
  7. Spend the extra money for the quality — If you are going to splurge on something, make sure it's going to get use out of it. If you can only think of one time when you would wear it, think long and hard wether the money is worth it. If it's something that will last, a great coat you'll always wear - and that's made with good quality, may be worth the extra pennies.
  8.
  9. Don't forget to GLAM IT UP — Even if all you have is a few sweaters, pants, skirts etc. — you can create new looks with different jewelry, bags, shoes, mixing and matching, and of course don't forget to borrow that cute top from your best girl friend! Friends of similar sizes can do wonders for each other's closets!

Bottom line is that when you shop, make sure your hard earned dollars are spent wisely. Get classic pieces that you can add to and will love to wear.
